Overview of Canberra International Clay Target Club



Vision

To be recognised as the leading shotgun sports club in the Canberra region.

Mission

To provide a high quality shotgun shooting venue, facilities and associated services for club members and their visitors.

History

The Canberra International Clay Target Club had its origins in the Queanbeyan Gun Club, which was located near the Queanbeyan Race Course. In the mid 1980s, urban development forced the club to relocate for a brief period to the SSAA range at Majura Lane. The club then took possession of a lease at Kowen Forest and has resided there ever since.

Affiliations

CICTC is affiliated with a number of organisations including:
  • The Australian Clay Target Association
  • The NSW Clay Target Association Inc; and
  • Field and Game Australia Inc.
Other accreditations:
  • NSW Game Council - Approved Hunting Organisation (AHO); and
  • NSW Police - Approved Hunting Club in accordance with the Firearms Act 1996;
  • NSW Police - Approved Clay Target Club in accordance with the Firearms Act 1996.

Disciplines

Most shotgun disciplines are active within the club including:
  • Down The Line (DTL);
  • Ball Trap;
  • Double Trap;
  • ISSF Trap (Trench);
  • Skeet (American and ISSF); and
  • Simulated Field.

Hunting

Hunting activities are promoted within the club for those shooters who like to extend their clay target skills or for shooters who just enjoy the hunting experience. For further information refer to "Hunting" on the main menu.
